Family Engagement
PIRC Partnerships
Partnerships build bright futures for our children, young adults, and their families.
Currently, with the support of the New Mexico Public Education Department, the NM PIRC is collaborating with three New Mexico school districts and three individual schools sites to implement Action Teams for Partnerships, for a total of 20 Action Teams. These 20 Action Teams are located at or within the following schools and districts:
- Cobre Consolidated Schools
- Socorro Consolidated Schools
- Española Municipal Schools
- Pajarito Elementary (Albuquerque Public Schools)
- Sacramento Elementary (Alamogordo Public Schools)
- Gadsden Middle School (Gadsden Independent Schools)
We also have partnerships to implement the Epstein Model and Action Teams for Partnerships at a district level at:
- Santa Fe Public Schools
Using our Family Connections Series, , a set of six books based on the Epstein Model, PIRC staff connects with schools and families through interactive workshops focused on the Six Keys of Parental Involvement to improve student outcomes.
PIRCs partner with early childhood programs, too! A portion (30%) of a PIRC’s funds must go towards working with Early Childhood Parent Education (ECPE) Programs. To fulfill this requirement of our grant, we contract with five Parents as Teachers (PAT) providers across the state, which include:

- Central Consolidated Schools Career Prep Even Start (Shiprock)
- Counseling Associates, Inc. (Roswell)
- Farmington Municipal Schools Parents as Teachers Program (Farmington)
- Lincoln County Parents as Teachers (Ruidoso)
- Santa Clara Day School FACE Program (Española)
In addition, we also work with other early childhood programs, including ten Head Start programs, and one GRADS (Graduation, Reality and Dual-Role Skills) program.

- Tres Manos Head Start (Albuquerque)
- West Las Vegas Head Start (West Las Vegas)
