The New Mexico Family Infant Toddler Interagency Coordinating Council (ICC) advises and assists the Department of Health in the implementation of the Family Infant Toddler (FIT) early intervention system of services and supports.
There is an opening for a parent representative on the ICC. The ICC will consider applications and vote to select a parent representative at the November 16, 2017 ICC meeting at Parents Reaching Out in Albuquerque. The selected parent’s name and qualifications will be recommended to the Governor for appointment. There will be an additional application process for the Governor’s ICC appointment.
The ICC holds 4 public meetings each year as follows: 2 meetings in Albuquerque, 1 meeting in Santa Fe, and 1 meeting in either the NW, NE, SE, or SW region of the state. A special ICC meeting may be called if needed. In addition to the 4 ICC meetings, the ICC holds a yearly 2-day Strategic Planning retreat. The ICC supports the participation of parent representatives appointed to the ICC as follows: a $95.00 meeting day stipend, round trip mileage at $.44 per mile and child care/respite at $9.00 per hour for 1 child or $13.50 per hour for 2 or more children.
Parents interested in being considered for election and subsequent appointment to the ICC should email a résumé and a letter of interest to Suzanne Pope, ICC Coordinator, by 5:00 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2017.
